On this episode of the Circle 31 Podcast, I talk to Suzanne Burns. Suzanne  is the Executive Director and Founder of Foundation House Ministries;  a faith-based maternity home and training program for pregnant and parenting women in critical situations. They have recently opened a job-training program, called Healing Springs Gifts, ( This program provides hands-on job experience through the production and sale of natural skin care products. 

Suzanne has a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Studies from Lee University, Cleveland, TN and is a Certified Family Trauma Professional. She is a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She serves as a member of the Leadership Council of the National Maternity Housing Coalition and the Executive Council for the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth. 

Suzanne regularly speaks regionally and nationally on the multi-faceted topics of chronic trauma, chronic poverty, addiction and the women that Foundation House serves. She provides executive coaching and training on these and other topics through her speaker’s website, at

Suzanne and her husband, Tim, reside in Cleveland, TN, with their younger son, Ethan. Their older son, Suzanne’s own crisis pregnancy, is a US Marine, serving stateside with his wife.
